The Visiting Nurse Associations of New England is a membership organization of independent VNA’s in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut, established in 1985.
To qualify as a member of VNANE, an agency must satisfy the following eligibility criteria:
- Operate with an Independent Board of Directors
- Agency is Medicare Certified
- Agency has a Not for Profit Status
- Agency provides certain “Core” Services
- Agency will pay dues based on number of referrals by payer
- Agency must meet criteria adopted by the Board of Directors governing clinical standards, conditions of participation, and membership requirements
- Agency agrees to maintain full compliance with all applicable licensure, certification, and accreditation requirements of the state licensing authority of the state in which Member is incorporated and the Medicare and Medicaid programs
- Agency shall maintain general and professional liability insurance in an amount of not less than one million dollars ($1M) per occurrence and three million dollars ($3M) annual aggregate
- All applications for memberships shall be reviewed by the Directors, who shall determine, in their exclusive discretion, whether the applicant is eligible for membership
